Laser metal working
Hardly machinable materials, as wolfram, molybdenum, titanium, ceramics or hardened steel is possible to work also by rotation with precuring by laser as substitution for grinding by finishing metal working. The generator of the lighting beam is diode laser CO2 or Nd:YAG-laser with the power 1,0 –1,2 kW.
The technical applications of laser can be divided into:
1. in the case of one – dimensional process (boring, 1D-process)
2. in two-dimensional process (2D) – laser is in relative motion to the work-piece (cutting)
3. in three-dimensional process (3D) – are used two (turning) or three (milling) laser beams.
